In France, 1,500,000 people face illiteracy even though they have been to school.
To prevent and act on illiteracy, we must act as close as possible to the territories. The National Agency to Combat Illiteracy was created in 2000 as a public interest group to bring together, lead and support the multiple decision-makers and stakeholders involved in the prevention and fight against illiteracy. It sheds light on illiteracy figures, coordinates solutions in the territories, and equips stakeholders.
Every year, it organizes the National Days of Action against Illiteracy and runs the network of Illiteracy Resource Centers. The ANLCI team is made up of a national team and regional coordinators
- Combatting social exclusion, insecurity and poverty
- Vocational integration, employment
- Local government services
