Created in 1990, SFAP (Société Française d'Accompagnement et de soins Palliatifs) brings together the main players in the French palliative care movement:

More than 10,000 private and hospital caregivers are involved in the palliative approach, whether they work in units (USP), mobile teams (EMSP) or palliative care networks (doctors, nurses, psychologists, physiotherapists, care assistants, social workers, etc.). Among them are many university lecturers.

The palliative care movement brings together some 350 federated and independent support associations, and over 25,000 members, in a spirit of solidarity with the sick.
