The connected town hall and various aspects of digitalisation
Local management increasingly relies on digital resources and action platforms. There is no denying that services to the general public include more connected actions, which have to be constantly mindful of the need to remain accessible and inclusive for all aspects of society.
Digitalisation of public services is being widely implemented, expedited and deserves specific attention due its multiple facets and interfaces at a time when new usage of digital capabilities is increasing tenfold with the arrival of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The events and demonstration area ‘the connected town hall’ aims to set the stage for various aspects of digitalisation to improve differentiation, proficiency and combinations:
- Paperless administration of management resources for the community and connections between administrations ;
- Digitalisation of infrastructures, networks and public facilities in order to optimise operating performance. These practices pave the way for informed management based on precise data which supports public decision-making;
- Forward planning of projects or situations or improved regional knowledge using increasingly accurate and powerful modelling tools;
- Improvement of the relationship and communication with residents, users of services, with the support of digital channels but also the reinforcement of consultation and collaboration resources supporting living arrangements and local democracy;
- Computer equipment and attention for digital practices with a reduced impact on the climate and the environment.
- Securing equipment and sensitive data for local authorities faced with the risk of cyber-attacks and attempts to undermine digital sovereignty.
Located in the heart of the ‘Digital Technology and Connectivity’ area (pavilion 4) the ‘connected town hall’ space will be the ideal venue for bringing together professionals offering a variety of solutions for local authorities as they roll out their digital strategy to provide better public service and support local, public community action.
