Innovation Awards

The Innovation Awards competition at the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités is aimed at rewarding an innovative solution or collaboration with a local authority. The competition comprises 8 categories, each of which can reward a solution and/or a collaboration.

What are the prize categories?

  • Energy Sobriety
    Rewards solutions and/or collaborations that help to accelerate the reduction of energy consumption, GHG emissions and the production of renewable energy in local areas.
    • Low-carbon mobility
      Rewards investment in and renewal of infrastructures, their modernisation and their contribution to local policies for ecological transition and territorial development. Also carbon-free transport and collective and individual mobility.

  • Sustainable Planning, Housing, Renovation, Urban Recycling and Habitat
    Rewards solutions and/or collaborations that promote land conservation and urban renewal, by rehabilitating existing areas and meeting housing needs in areas under pressure.

    • Digital Confidence
      Rewards initiatives and solutions using digital technologies to modernise and secure public infrastructures and services. Tools that promote a peaceful relationship with all users, access to procedures and all forms of digital inclusion.

      • Ecological planning
        Rewards solutions and/or collaborations that are part of the ecological transition and its implementation over the long term in the fields of the environment, climate, biodiversity, the fight against pollution, adaptation, resources and respect for planetary limits.

  • Solidarity & Inclusion
    Rewards solutions and/or collaborations that shed light on lifestyles and ways of living together to promote the well-being of residents, good ageing, support for people losing their independence, social links and action to help vulnerable and fragile groups.

  • Local dynamism and attractiveness
    Rewards solutions and collaborations that promote local dynamism, the development of local activity and employment, the relocation and re-industrialisation of economic activities, as well as collective and participative governance.

  • Security – Risk Prevention and Management
    Rewards solutions and collaborations that strengthen the ability of local authorities to react to security risks, as well as those that help to anticipate, prevent and organise the resilience of territories to protect populations.
