Contexte
The synthetic geotextiles commonly used on our construction sites are mostly imported and will decompose in the earth in the form of microplastics. The idea is to replace them with biodegradable geotextiles designed in France in an area severely impacted by deindustrialization from a local resource derived from sustainable, virtuous and profitable agriculture.
Acteurs
Victor Lamego, a visionary textile engineer, is the project leader. The Communauté de Communes du Pays d'Olmes is the land and real estate "facilitator." The Occitanie Region is monitoring and assisting at every stage of this project, winner of the France 2030 competition.
