Contexte
Digital technology has significant impacts: energy consumption,CO₂ emissions, metal extraction, water resources,global warming, greenhouse effect, and depletion of planetary resources. The union, in collaboration with municipalities, works with citizens to promote more responsible digital practices, EPCI by EPCI. Through this partnership, it collects all types of used cables from residents and schools in order to:
Reduce the environmental impact of digital technology through recycling
Raise awareness about the importance of digital sobriety
Support the well-being of children undergoing surgery
Acteurs
The Eure Normandie Numérique Joint Syndicate collects used cables from residents in collaboration with all the EPCIs (Public Establishments for Intercommunal Cooperation) of the Eure Department, as well as with municipalities and their schools.
The syndicate also relies on a national partnership with Derichebourg Environnement (which purchases and recycles raw materials) and the association Les Ptits Doudous (which receives funds generated from material recovery) to support hospitalized children.
