Faced with the increasing number of explosions involving nitrous oxide cylinders in energy recovery units, the financial consequences of which are estimated by the FNADE and inter-municipal authorities to be between €30 and €40 million for the year 2025, Veolia has deployed an innovative solution that is unique in France: PROTOSAFE
Thanks to real-time detection of unintentionally contaminated collection trucks, the solution helps to limit explosions in incinerators, thereby protecting operational teams, securing facilities and maintaining service continuity.
