DataPhonia
- Protection of endangered species, habitats and migratory routes
Contexte
BioPhonia, a French company specializing in bioacoustics and ecoacoustics, uses an innovative method: passive acoustics. This approach captures environmental sounds using autonomous recorders, providing reliable data on wildlife and soundscapes. However, the large volume of data generated is an obstacle to the widespread use of this method.
To address this challenge, BioPhonia has developed DataPhonia, a platform designed to organize, manage, store, analyze, and leverage environmental sound data.
Acteurs
Founded in 2020 by three enthusiasts of sound and biodiversity, BioPhonia grew out of the world of bioacoustics and ecoacoustics research. By combining their expertise in ecology, acoustics, and conservation, they identified a major need: concrete, effective, and accessible solutions to better characterize biodiversity in the field. Drawing on their experience, they decided to put their skills to work for those who take action every day to protect nature.
BioPhonia's mission is simple: listen to nature in order to better preserve it.
