Faced with a 50% decline in forest carbon sinks over the past ten years and increasing pressure on the wood-energy sector, Melia has developed innovative fuel pellets made from the woody fraction of green waste. These pellets are designed for use in nearby collective boilers.
This solution eases pressure on natural resources while securing stable prices and supply through long-term contracts. In doing so, Melia fosters local energy networks that reinforce economic resilience and energy sovereignty in territories engaged in the ecological transition.
Acteurs
Melia's activity targets stakeholders at two distinct levels:
At the industrial level: working with the various players managing green waste deposits (composting platforms, green waste collection sites).
At the pellet consumption level: serving local authorities, boiler operators, and local distributors
