Etablissement d'un modèle conceptuel du glacier de la Grande Motte au moyen de reconnaissances multi-compétences
- Risk, crisis and disaster management
Contexte
In the context of climate change, monitoring proglacial lakes is of growing interest. Formed by retreating glaciers and fed by their meltwater, proglacial lakes are bodies of water held back by natural dams. The stress exerted on these dams increases as the lakes grow, which can pose a danger to downstream populations. To manage this risk, our innovation enables the development of a conceptual model of a glacier by assessing its characteristics as well as the dynamics of its intra- and supraglacial water flows.
