Manta

  • control and imaging equipment and services

Contexte

Collisions between whales and ships are a growing concern for sustainable maritime transport, threatening marine life and causing costly vessel damage.
MANTA is the ship's intelligent underwater 'eyes and ears' an advanced acoustic system that listens, detects, and precisely locates marine animals in real time.
By mapping their position and movement beneath the surface, MANTA helps crews take immediate action to avoid collisions.
Compact, lightweight, and easy to deploy, it brings real-time ocean awareness to any vessel, anywhere.

Acteurs

Reducing collisions between marine wildlife and ships involves a wide range of actors from different sectors.
- Researchers and scientific institutes play a key role by studying the behavior of cetaceans.
- Shipowners and maritime operators are directly involved; they integrate these technologies to improve safety and reduce their environmental impact.
- Maritime authorities and organizations define regulatory frameworks, promote best practices, and support initiatives to protect marine species.
