Contexte
Municipal technical workers are exposed to repetitive tasks, load handling and awkward postures. These physical constraints lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), the main cause of sick leave in local public services. With an ageing workforce, recruitment difficulties and rising costs linked to absenteeism, local authorities need innovative solutions to protect their staff while maintaining public service quality.
Acteurs
Fox Innovation, a company based in the Basque Country, has developed the BISKO exoskeleton under the Exofair brand to assist with handling tasks. The project involves ergonomists, physiotherapists, municipal field workers and local industrial partners for design and assembly. Several local authorities (cities, inter-municipalities, public hospitals) have tested the solution and contributed feedback. This collaborative approach ensures a device tailored to the needs of public sector professionals and operational field constraints.
