L'informatique à portée de Coeur

  • Citizen Participation, Accessibility and Inclusion

Contexte

ACIAH works to promote digital inclusion among socially and economically vulnerable populations, the elderly, people with disabilities, and those who are digitally excluded. It is based in rural areas.
Its approach is innovative in terms of its product (the adapted ACIAH-Linux voice system), its methodology (self-training with educational materials and adaptations), its geographical coverage (outreach initiatives in small towns using a camper van), and its social impact (encouraging beneficiaries to become volunteers in order to strengthen social ties and foster a welcoming environment).

Acteurs

ACIAH stakeholders:
- Employees and volunteers working in the field
- Board of Directors with a strong presence of blind or visually impaired individuals
- Technical advisory board of experts for software development and testing
- Financial, technical, and regional partners for support and resources

This human and collaborative organization makes the ACIAH project effective in its mission of inclusive and supportive digital inclusion, particularly around the simplified and vocalized ACIAH-Linux system, which facilitates computer access for people who often struggle with digital technology.
