Géotextiles Biosourcés Occitanie Geotex
- Public works, infrastructures, civil engineering
Contexte
The synthetic geotextiles commonly used on our construction sites are mostly imported and will decompose in the earth in the form of microplastics. The idea is to replace them with biodegradable geotextiles designed in France in an area severely impacted by deindustrialization from a local resource derived from sustainable, virtuous and profitable agriculture.
Acteurs
Victor Lamego, a visionary textile engineer, is the project leader. The Pays d'Olmes Community of Communes acted as a real estate and land facilitator. The Occitanie Region is a partner and is closely monitoring this project, which won the "France 2030" award. The Aude Chamber of Agriculture is driving the agricultural component.
